Description

Join our team as a Core Network Software Architect!

We are looking for a Core Network Software Architect to join our R&D organization and lead the architecture and design of Cyolo’s core networking and security software platform capabilities.

This is a senior, hands-on software architecture role responsible for defining and driving the technical direction of critical networking, segmentation, secure connectivity, and access control components across our platform.

The role sits within Cyolo’s R&D leadership team and plays a key part in shaping scalable, secure, and resilient platform capabilities that support enterprise and operational technology (OT) environments worldwide.

Cyolo is a leading cybersecurity company enabling secure access for enterprise and industrial environments through Zero Trust principles. Our platform helps organizations securely connect users, devices, and systems across complex IT and OT infrastructures while maintaining security, visibility, and operational continuity. An empty job that is used for creating requisitions 'from scratch'.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Architecture Ownership: Own the architecture of Cyolo’s core networking and security software platform capabilities, ensuring scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.
  • Technical Leadership: Define technical direction for secure connectivity, network control, segmentation, policy enforcement, and access management capabilities.
  • System Design: Design resilient, high-performance, and secure software systems that operate reliably in mission-critical enterprise and industrial environments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Security, DevOps, Engineering Managers, and R&D leadership to align architecture with business and product goals.
  • Engineering Guidance: Translate product and customer requirements into clear architectural designs, technical roadmaps, and implementation plans while mentoring engineering teams throughout execution.
  • Networking Expertise: Drive architectural decisions involving traffic flows, identity-aware connectivity, routing, segmentation, availability, performance, and security.
  • Standards & Best Practices: Define architectural principles, technical standards, and best practices across core network components and platform services.
  • Platform Innovation: Help build differentiated capabilities in Zero Trust access, secure connectivity, network segmentation, and OT/industrial security environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure, or network security products.
  • Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role such as Architect, Team Lead, Lead Developer, Principal Engineer, or Senior Staff Engineer.
  • Proven experience designing and building production-grade software systems for networking, security, infrastructure, or distributed platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, traffic flows, routing, segmentation, access control, and secure connectivity.
  • Hands-on experience with networking and security technologies such as firewalls, gateways, proxies, VPNs, ZTNA, NAC, segmentation, or secure access solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance security, scalability, performance, reliability, operability, and product delivery requirements.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Security, DevOps, and Engineering teams.
  • Strong system design, architectural thinking, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • High ownership mindset with the ability to lead complex technical domains end-to-end.
  • High proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OT/ICS security, industrial networking, manufacturing, energy, critical infrastructure, or regulated environments.
  • Experience at a leading cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, or enterprise software company.
  • Experience with Zero Trust, ZTNA, SASE, segmentation, micro-segmentation, NAC, firewall, proxy, gateway, or secure remote access products.
  • Experience with Go and distributed backend architectures, including agents, connectors, control planes, data planes, and policy engines.
  • Experience working in fast-paced product organizations where architecture decisions are closely tied to customer and business needs.
